WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, participated on a virtual panel with the Grow America’s Infrastructure Now (GAIN) Coalition to discuss North Dakota’s energy industry. In his remarks, the senator emphasized the importance of federalism, state’s rights, and the energy industry’s role in the state’s economy.

“It’s no secret Joe Biden’s actions on American energy have been detrimental. From transferring their climate guilt to adversaries and shutting down American pipelines, the Biden Administration has made one poor decision after another, completely ignoring global ramifications,” said Senator Cramer.“American fossil energy, development, production, and export is the right move, and North Dakota is leading the way in the field of energy. Our clean energy technologies are proof Joe Biden’s anti-American energy agenda isn’t the only possible approach. There is a more reasonable, common sense approach to energy, which can benefit our nation, our allies, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the global stage.”

The panel also covered the recent passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the Dakota Access Pipeline.

During his remarks, Senator Cramer noted next week’s Waters of the U.S. listening session, the only in-person event, featuring officials from the Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Bismarck. He is also hosting Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan in Fargo on Tuesday for the second installment of The Bully Pulpit

Other members on the panel included GAIN Strategic Advisor and former U.S. Army Major General James Marks, North Dakota Petroleum Council President Ron Ness, and Greater North Dakota Chamber President and CEO Arik Spencer. GAIN is a diverse coalition of businesses, trade associations, and labor groups who share a vested interest in creating jobs and strengthening the nation’s economy through infrastructure development.
