Hoeven Joins All GOP Senators in Filing Congressional Review Act to Nullify Administration’s Vaccine Mandate on Businesses

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven this week joined all Republican Senators, led by Senator Mike Braun, in officially filing a Congressional Review Act (CRA) Resolution of Disapproval against the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for private businesses. A CRA is the official process for Congress to eliminate an executive branch rule, and this action comes as part of an effort to overturn President Biden’s vaccine mandate for private employers. The CRA could receive a vote on the Senate floor as soon as early December.

“Our nation is facing a critical labor shortage and supply chain crisis, and the administration’s vaccine mandate would only make it worse,” said Hoeven. “The decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should be one that an individual in consultation with their health care provider can make for themselves, not mandated by the federal government.”

In addition to Hoeven and Braun, the legislation is cosponsored by the entire Republican Senate caucus, including Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and Senators Dan Sullivan, Bill Hagerty, Roger Marshall, Mike Lee, James Lankford, Rick Scott, Marsha Blackburn, Rand Paul, Cynthia Lummis, Shelley Moore Capito, Marco Rubio, John Barrasso, Cindy Hyde-Smith, John Thune, Jerry Moran, Roger Wicker, Richard Burr, Mike Rounds, Pat Toomey, Tommy Tuberville, James Risch, Mike Crapo, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, Kevin Cramer, Josh Hawley, John Boozman, Jim Inhofe, Chuck Grassley, Todd Young, John Kennedy, Ron Johnson, Ben Sasse, Steve Daines, Deb Fischer, Lindsey Graham, Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, Tim Scott, Bill Cassidy, Roy Blunt, Richard Shelby, Rob Portman, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney.
