WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant a total of $17,049,653.24 to the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), West Feliciana Parish, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for severe storm and Hurricane Laura relief. Cassidy had recently contacted FEMA on behalf of West Feliciana Parish regarding their request.
“It has taken far too long for relief to reach southwest Louisiana. And when it does, it often comes in small trickles,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding is welcome aid, but there is more work to do.”
