Inhofe Votes Against Democrat’s Attempt to Undermine Election Laws

Today, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) voted against cloture on the motion to proceed to S.4, a measure brought up by Senate Democrats that would undermine state election laws.

“Today’s vote is yet another sad attempt by Democrats to hold onto power by trying to give the federal government wide-ranging control over state-run elections. Oklahoma’s elections are among the most secure and respected in the nation and this bill would do nothing other than give Washington bureaucrats and activist lawyers unprecedented influence over our election laws that could compromise reasonable and popular election integrity initiatives like requiring a photo ID to vote. Democrats should stop with the political games and instead join Republicans on solving real issues that Americans care about – like funding for our military, cutting regulations and other barriers for energy development, and securing the southern border, to name a few.”
