WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement on Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon’s retirement announcement:

“I congratulate Mike on his nearly three decades of service and wish him the best on a well-earned retirement at the end of his term. Mike has been a key player in Kentucky’s development over the past twenty-seven years, overseeing his county’s explosive growth by bringing jobs, businesses, and new residents to the area. Through his leadership, Bowling Green has become the central pillar of one of Kentucky’s most dynamic regions.

“Over seven terms, Mike has cultivated a wide array of initiatives to benefit his constituents, showcasing a deep, diverse understanding of good governance. Through business development programs, he has recruited top employers to Bowling Green. Through an enhanced parks system and improved performing arts, he has made Warren County even more appealing to new residents.
