WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure and member of the Senate Budget Committee, joined Cheryl Casone on Fox Business to discuss the latest with President Biden’s new spending bill framework.

On President Biden Meeting with Democrats:

“It doesn’t appear to me that [Democrats] have nearly enough people to call it a success. In fact, I don’t think it looks ‘gusty’ at all that [President Biden] came [to Capitol Hill] today… I think he’s a desperate president trying to get a whole bunch of Democrats to follow him over the political cliff.”

On Socialist Policies in the Package:

“At the end of the day the American people aren’t socialists. The pragmatic politicians in both parties know that the American people aren’t socialists and they’re not Marxists. In fact they actually resist a lot of this stuff. There’s a reason Bernie Sanders never wins the presidential nomination.”

On Inflation:

“That bipartisan infrastructure package is the right thing to do for my state and for our country and, frankly, for inflation.”

“If you look at this framework, as incomplete as it is, it invests a whole bunch of other people’s money back into the demand side of the economy with nothing on the supply side. That’s why we have this runaway inflation. I support the hard infrastructure package. I think it makes all the sense in the world.”
