Rosen Has Also Stressed Urgency Of Including Strong Climate Provisions, Wildfire and Drought Funding, Comprehensive Immigration Reform, and Support for Travel and Tourism
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced today that she has joined Senate colleagues in signing on to a series of recent letters to President Biden, Senate Majority Leader Schumer, and House Speaker Pelosi urging them to include key economic priorities for Nevada families in the final Build Back Better package. The three Rosen-signed letters advocate for a national paid leave program, affordable and accessible child care, an expansion of the child tax credit, and major investments in both workforce development programs and comprehensive affordable housing.
In addition, Senator Rosen has been stressing to her colleagues the urgency of including strong climate change provisions, comprehensive immigration reform, and support for the travel and tourism industry in the reconciliation bill. She also led Western Senators in calling for the inclusion of funding for wildfire and drought prevention, mitigation, and relief measures as part of any reconciliation package.
“As the White House and congressional leaders work to finalize a framework for the Build Back Better package, I believe it’s critical that we include key economic investments and tax cuts that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of hardworking Nevadans,” said Senator Rosen. “Just as the Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure and jobs legislation will boldly invest in our physical infrastructure, this reconciliation bill must invest in Nevada families and address the challenges they’re facing every day at the kitchen table trying to make ends meet.”
