BISMARCK — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), joined the welcome home ceremony for the North Dakota National Guard, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment as they return home from a successful one year mission.
“I thank God this battalion was kept safe during their mission. We all slept better at night knowing North Dakota’s skilled National Guard was in our capital protecting us,” said Senator Cramer. “The National Guard is the greatest institution of liberty and liberty isn’t cheap, especially in our founders great experiment of self-governance. Thank you for your work and dedication.”
The unit returned to North Dakota in July and August from their mission in the nation’s capital operating out of Fort Belvoir. Senator Cramer visited with them during their time in the Washington, D.C. area.
