Senator Marks Grand Opening of Multi-Tenant Facility at Grand Sky

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today marked the grand opening of the new, 18,000-square-foot, Multi-Tenant Building 1 (MT1) at Grand Sky that will support future growth for the unmanned aerial system (UAS) business and aviation park. The new facility’s tenants include General Atomics, Innovets Aerospace, Grand Sky Airfield Operations, as well as the Northern Plains UAS Test Site’s Vantis, the statewide Beyond Visual Line of Site network.

“Grand Sky is the place to be for all things UAS and this new expansion, which is already fully leased, proves just that,” said Hoeven. “The multi-tenant building enables companies of all sizes to be part of the incredible UAS ecosystem we’ve worked to develop in Grand Forks. Over a decade ago, Grand Sky was just a vision. We went to work to secure the lease and attract good companies. Today, we’re celebrating yet another expansion at this one-of-a-kind aviation and tech park.”

Hoeven has worked since his time as governor to establish North Dakota as a hub of UAS research, development and training, including developing and growing Grand Sky. The senator recruited Northrop Grumman and General Atomics as anchor tenants at Grand Sky and secured an Enhanced Use Lease with the Air Force to establish Grand Sky. The senator also successfully recruited General Atomics to open a training academy.
