WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Adams County Medical Foundation, Inc for the Adams County Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) Orthopedic Surgery Project.

“Communities across Ohio face a heavy burden when financing infrastructure improvements, including health care facilities and technology,” Brown said. “This project will keep jobs in the region and will ensure that Adams County residents have access to high quality care in their community.”

These funds will help ACRMC purchase needed medical equipment, such as x-ray machines and radiology shields. This grant will also assist ACRMC in creating and retaining 25 healthcare jobs and improving the health and wellness of residents in Adams County.

Additional funding will be provided by state and local sources bringing the total project funding to $418,222.

ARC is an economic development agency of the federal government with the mission to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in the Appalachian region.
