WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $122,544 to the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) in Cleveland to establish a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) that helps support private capital investments and job creation in the five county region. NOACA serves Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina.

“Ohio workers can compete with anyone in the world, and this investment will help ensure the communities in this five county region have the resources they need to remain competitive,” said Brown. “I’m happy to see the Economic Development Agency recognize the strength of Ohio workers, and I support any effort that create jobs in Ohio.”

EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s merit, the applicant’s eligibility, and the availability of funds. More information on EDA’s grant process and investment process can be found at www.eda.gov
