BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Energy awarded $150,000 to the University of North Dakota’s (UND) Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC) for research into critical minerals.
The funds will be used to develop a plan aimed at assessing the viability of certain uses of lignite coal and combustion byproducts originating in the Williston Basin.
