WASHINGTONU.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, on Wednesday secured $17 million for a 30,000 square foot Connecticut Air National Guard Aircraft Support Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance facility at Bradley International Airport in the Fiscal Year 2022 Military Construction and Veterans Administration Appropriations bill.

“As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I worked hard to secure additional funds for our Connecticut Air National Guard facility at Bradley International Airport. This investment is a major win for Connecticut that will dramatically expand the maintenance facility for the CT National Guard’s eight C-130H aircraft a year ahead of schedule. This will also help create good-paying jobs while supporting our National Guard. A win all around,” said Murphy.

“This win for the Connecticut Air National Guard is a testament to our servicemembers and the incredible work they do every day. The federal funding we’ve secured will have an immediate impact on Connecticut – creating jobs and providing the federal resources to construct this much-needed facility at Bradley,” said Blumenthal.
