Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement regarding his vote in support of the Emergency Security Supplemental:
“I am grateful to the members of the U.S. Capitol Police and National Guard who protected our nation’s capital and ensured a democratic transfer of power. We also have a responsibility to protect Afghans who now face retaliation for their support of U.S. forces. I was happy to support this measure and stand with those who have stood with us.”
