WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the following statement on the passing of former U.S. Senator Mike Enzi:
“In his parting speech from the Senate, Senator Enzi said that he believed both parties agree on 80 percent of the issues, and 80 percent of each issue — and if we focus on that 80 percent, we can do great things for the American people. This sentiment sums up my good friend Senator Mike Enzi, whose kind spirit and commitment to finding common ground always shined through. From our bill to lift the Cuba trade embargo to our efforts to make it easier for veterans to become paramedics, we worked together to find solutions to a broad range of issues. He was a devoted legislator and helpful colleague, guiding me as I passed one of my first bills as a brand new Senator. His faith and his love for his wife Diana and his family knew no bounds. We will all miss Mike.”
