WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the statement below applauding budget negotiations:
“As we rebuild our economy following the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression, we need to take bold action. This agreement will cut taxes for the middle class and includes many of my key priorities that will provide support to Americans nationwide, including provisions based on my bills to invest in child care in rural communities, expand the housing supply, and preserve American jobs. Additionally, it lays out a framework to meet the needs of our nation’s families following the spirit of my Marshall Plan for Moms, including paid leave plans, child nutrition programs, and lower health care costs.
“This plan will work in conjunction with the previously announced bipartisan infrastructure deal, which includes major broadband funding and provisions based on the bill I lead with Rep. Clyburn as well as many other key infrastructure priorities. Now let’s get it done.”
