BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Ranking Member on the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, joined Larry Kudlow on Fox Business this afternoon to discuss the latest on bipartisan infrastructure negotiations.  Excerpts and a link to the full video are below.

On National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Reforms:

“NEPA reforms are important to building green energy infrastructure, resiliency, and the things that are important to [Democrats]. … There is a more efficient, better way to do it that doesn’t compromise the integrity of the environmental protection at all by streamlining the NEPA process.”

On Reconciliation:

“Even if Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer agree that no more talk about two or four or six trillion dollar reconciliation packages in the context of infrastructure, Nancy Pelosi has made it abundantly clear she will require another five trillion dollars of social spending – unpaid for – in reconciliation before she allows this infrastructure package to move forward. … I worry about the trust that has been broken by this moving of the goalposts constantly. There will be a lot of work to build that.”

On Deal-Making with the Democratic Party:

“Joe Biden used to have, and – I think, maybe, to some degree, still has – a reputation for deal-making. The problem is, he has got this other part of his party that doesn’t want to make a deal. They just want to ramrod.”
