GRAND FORKS, ND – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member, attended a Change of Command ceremony at the Grand Forks Air Force Base today, where Colonel Cameron Pringle formally relinquished command of the 319th Reconnaissance Wing to Colonel Timothy Curry.

“Thank you to Colonel Pringle for his time of dedicated service in our state, and congratulations to Colonel Curry who I trust will do an excellent job in his new role,” said Senator Cramer. “The Grand Forks Air Force Base is well-positioned to significantly contribute to the future of our nation’s military efforts, which is why it has captured the attention of the top brass in Washington. I look forward to working with Colonel Curry to ensure the base is ready and able to maximize its potential now and into the future.”

Colonel Pringle has served in the Air Force since 1996 and as Commander in Grand Forks since June 2019, the same month Colonel Curry became Vice Commander at the base.

In that role, Colonel Curry was responsible for organizing, training, and equipping RQ-4 Global Hawk fleet, which Senator Cramer has been speaking with defense officials about during recent SASC hearings.

As the first North Dakotan to ever serve on SASC, Senator Cramer has used his seat on the committee to highlight the Grand Forks Air Force Base to the nation’s top military leaders. He’s also hosted several of them on trips to the base, including Chief of Space Force Operations General Raymond, Space Command Commander General Dickinson, and most recently, Air Force Chief of Staff General Brown.
