Sen. Cramer: Energy Dept. Awards $499k to Developing Carbon-Based Building Materials in Grand Forks

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee member, announced today the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management awarded $499,995 to Microbeam Technologies in Grand Forks. 

The funds will be used for efforts to develop a method for the production of low-temperature sintered carbon building materials. Microbeam Technologies and the University of North Dakota have developed a method for producing high-value carbon-based building materials using a flexible manufacturing process.
