Sen. Cramer Receives Leadership Award from Chamber of Commerce for Supporting American Businesses

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Banking Committee member, announced today he has received the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America award, which is given by the Chamber of Commerce to members of Congress who support legislation important the nation’s business community. Senator Cramer received this award in 2020 as well.

“I am honored to once again receive the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America award from the Chamber of Commerce,” said Senator Cramer.“Helping the nation’s businesses succeed is not a political issue. It is an American issue, and I look forward to working this year on behalf of the businesses in North Dakota and across the country who suffered greatly during the pandemic but are ready to rehire workers and reopen their doors.”

Legislation Senator Cramer has supported and has helped lead this Congress which would help America’s businesses and workers include:

  • The Get Americans Back to Work Act, which he introduced with Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) to repeal the increase in federal unemployment benefits.
  • The REGROW Act, a bipartisan bill he is leading with Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) which would help get oilfield workers back to work.
  • The Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act, bipartisan legislation he led and helped unanimously pass through committee with fellow Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee leaders to make a historic investment in the nation’s roads and bridges that would create construction jobs and improve the nation’s transportation infrastructure for American businesses.
